Why Locals Love BedHead Coffee
Nestled in the heart of Seattle’s vibrant West Seattle neighborhood, BedHead Coffee is a charming cafe and coffee shop that expertly bridges old-school coffee culture with a modern twist. From the moment you step inside this cozy spot at 1513 SW Holden St, you're greeted with an inviting atmosphere and the unmistakable aroma of freshly roasted coffee, setting the tone for a genuine and satisfying coffee experience.
BedHead Coffee’s dedication to quality shines through its thoughtfully curated espresso menu. Whether you’re seeking a bold Americano—an expertly pulled double shot smoothed out with hot water—or craving the rich intensity of a Black Eye, where double shots meet drip coffee, there is a robust option for every coffee lover. For those who appreciate a silky texture, the Cappuccino and Latte, crafted with foamed and steamed milk respectively, deliver velvety layers that complement the deep espresso flavors perfectly.
Adventurous taste buds will delight in the Cafe Breve, which marries double shot espresso with steamed half-and-half for a luxuriously creamy sip, or the Dirty Chai, a harmonious blend of chai tea and espresso that balances spice and boldness with steamed milk. And for chocolate aficionados, BedHead’s Mocha—offered with white, dark, or milk chocolate—stands out as a customer favorite, evoking rich cocoa decadence with each carefully poured cup.
But BedHead isn't just about exceptional coffee. The welcoming vibe here is palpable, as echoed by regulars like Cindy House, who praises the “friendliest service” alongside perfectly tailored drinks. The staff’s attention to detail ensures each cup is made just the way you like it, making every visit feel special and personalized.
Beyond beverages, BedHead serves a curated selection of food that captures the true essence of comforting, delicious café fare. Clarise Nagle raves about their English muffin sandwich, describing the bread’s texture as reminiscent of authentic English crumpets, paired delightfully with uniquely fluffy scrambled eggs that are a true treat. This kind of culinary creativity adds a layer of savory satisfaction to your coffee ritual.
Convenience is also a hallmark of BedHead Coffee, loved by locals like Savannah Kleyla who rely on the option to order ahead and pick up a hot, ready-to-go drink—perfect for busy mornings or before heading to the nearby dog park. The cafe’s friendly yet efficient service makes it a seamless part of your daily routine.
What truly sets BedHead Coffee apart is its commitment to quality without the corporate price tag. Daniel Marquardt sums it up well, calling their mochas the best in town, crafted using his favorite local roasters and evoking the authentic Seattle coffee scene of the past. This pride in craft and community creates an irreplaceable sense of connection and warmth.
From its quaint, inviting space to the meticulously prepared drinks and delicious eats, BedHead Coffee embodies the soul of Seattle’s coffee culture with a sincerity and expertise that will keep you coming back. Whether you’re a devoted espresso fan or just in need of a calm, quality cup to start your day right, BedHead Coffee delivers comfort, flavor, and a sense of belonging in every sip.

Had a coffee from here and the barista made it just how I liked with the friendliest service. Just what you are looking for in a coffee shop.

Love swinging by this place on the way to our local dog park. I order ahead and its already hot and ready when I pull in. Convenient and tasty.

Im not sure why there’s so many negative reviews. I have ordered from here 2x and went 2x. The prices are good, less than chains, the lattes are STRONG but good. Idk what kind of English muffin they use on their sandwich, but it’s amazing. It tastes like the crumpets I had in England. And the eggs are weird fluffy scrambled eggs that were shaped, it’s different but soooo good. London fog was just normal, chai great, latte and cappuccino by far the best I’ve had in this area. I don’t think people that want super sweet drinks and Frappuccino’s would like it here. So go elsewhere if you have a child’s palette or are a child? I’m salty from the bad reviews.

Cute location, good coffee (not the sweet kid stuff) and personable service. Prices weren’t bad. We don’t order food but there were good options.

Hand to god, these are the best mochas in town. The shop uses my favorite roasters in town and the drinks are expertly prepared. The prices are fair and considerably less than the corporate chains. I go out of my way to support this shop and they remind me of the Seattle coffee scene of yore. Grab a mocha before you get stuck in nearby traffic, it’ll soothe your nerves!

Sweet little place right by my work. Bought a coffee for a friend previously, my friend LOVED IT!! Today I bought a coffee for myself, accidentally showed up right before they closed (I was mistaken about the hours), delicious cappuccino! Great prices, great coffee, and fantastic customer service! Thank you so much!

This is a great neighborhood coffee shop. The owner is vested in the community, and even built a nice covered outdoor sitting area to enjoy a few sips. If you've got a request, they are always interested in hearing it. Love to see small business owners investing in the community!
